A new year and all systems are go for 0704. We are already working on some exciting new projects and with more on the horizon we are hoping that 2011 will be a year to remember.

We have just completed a project with Edinburgh based illustrator Molly Buchanan. Molly approached us after seeing the brand identity we created for Miss Dixiebelle. Molly’s inspiration is taken from the classic pin-up style with her own twist. Once we completed the brand identity and opted for screen printed business cards it was over to the guys at Keeble Creative to create a portfolio style site to show off her work . Check out her work at welcometomollywood.co.uk it’s well worth a look.

We were approached to design the new brand identity for Edinburgh based home improvements company ‘Home Improvement Solutions’ and here is the final version of the logo.
The website for The Gentleman’s Bristle in connection with Movember is now live look out for updates on the blog and that all important link for donations which will be greatly appreciated by all the team.
We have just completed a brand project for Tinker Tailor. Tinker Tailor is the Edinburgh based company of Gabrielle Murray, a designer who specialises in handmade children’s clothing. When it came time to print the business cards we wanted to create a high quality card to showcase the design, we decided to go back to Glasgow Press to help us create another beautiful example of Letter Press print.
We have just completed this project for Jude Cook at helpmybusinessplan.co.uk. The aim of our brief was to create a brand identity for the company that was clean and colourful and gave an approachable image which set them apart from that of heavily corporate competitors. We developed a set of characters/icons, intended to represent the varied clients that would look to make use of the companies services. and we have used these throughout the designs of the business cards and website.
I have persuaded a group of my designer friends to join me in this year’s ‘Movember’ challenge. The aim of Movember is to challenge men to change their appearance and the face of men’s health by growing a moustache. The rules are simple, start November clean-shaven and then grow a moustache for the entire month, raising as much money as you can as you go. The moustache becomes the ribbon for men’s health, much in the same way as the pink ribbon worn in support of breast cancer. We men may not be able to wear a bra on top of our clothes and moonwalk (well some of us might but that’s a different story all together) but we can grow some impressive facial hair! All funds raised in the UK are donated to The Prostate Cancer Charity (TPCC), which is the UK’s leading prostate cancer charity.
We will be launching a mini fund raising campaign including a micro website, Facebook page and a blog with updates on how all of our individual growths are coming along and dealing with those all important and burning issues such as ‘What style to go for’ – the Dali, the Fu Manchu or the classic handlebar?
Watch this space for more info but in the meantime here is a sneak peek of some of the artwork we have worked on so far.
